Doing Business in Dominica

The Climate Resilience Execution Agency for Dominica (CREAD) in partnership with the Small Business Support Unit under the Ministry of Tourism, International Transport and Maritime Initiatives recently developed a comprehensive MSME Business Management Training kit for businesses in Dominica. It comprises six modules which were selected to address the operational, strategic and sustainability challenges faced by the MSME sector.

The overall objective of the MSME Business Management Training is to support MSMEs within all sectors of Dominica with specific focus on retooling, access to finance and business continuity planning for adverse and unforeseen circumstances such as pandemics and natural disasters.

Expected Outcomes

Businesses will move from informal to formal financial management systems,
Improve financial performance and lower rate of failed businesses,
Transition from manual accounting systems to digital accounting systems such as cloud-based platforms; ensuring that important financial records are not lost in a natural disaster,
To empower entrepreneurs with the following skills: Business management, customer service, strategic thinking and planning, analytical and problem-solving, teamwork and leadership, and communication,
Robust business operations and continuity,
Improved customer experience,
Higher skilled and trained workforce,
Top quality products/services, and;
More effective advertising.
